Psychology

A psychologist is a licensed mental health professional who specializes in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and relational concerns. Using evidence‑based therapies and standardized psychological testing, psychologists help individuals understand patterns of thought and behavior, develop coping strategies, and improve overall functioning. They provide psychotherapy, conduct comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessments, and collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, schools, and legal professionals when behavioral or cognitive expertise is needed. Psychologists do not prescribe medication (in most states) but play a central role in therapy, assessment, and behavioral intervention.
