Pediatric Neurology

A pediatric neurologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and managing disorders of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles in infants, children, and adolescents. They evaluate developmental concerns, seizures, movement abnormalities, headaches, neuromuscular conditions, and neurologic complications of genetic or metabolic diseases. Pediatric neurologists perform detailed neurologic examinations, interpret specialized testing such as EEGs and neuroimaging, and coordinate long‑term care plans that support growth, learning, and functional development. Their work often involves collaboration with pediatricians, therapists, geneticists, and other specialists to address complex neurologic needs throughout childhood.
