Neuropsychiatry

A neuropsychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in conditions at the intersection of neurology and psychiatry — disorders in which changes in brain structure or function lead to disturbances in mood, behavior, cognition, or personality. They evaluate complex cases involving neurologic illness with psychiatric symptoms, psychiatric illness with neurologic features, or conditions where both systems are affected. Neuropsychiatrists perform detailed cognitive and behavioral assessments, interpret neurologic and imaging findings, and develop integrated treatment plans that address both brain‑based and mental‑health components of disease.
