Nephrology

A nephrologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and managing diseases of the kidneys and the systems they influence. They evaluate abnormalities in kidney function, electrolyte balance, blood pressure regulation, and fluid status. Nephrologists manage both acute and chronic kidney disorders, interpret complex laboratory and imaging findings, oversee dialysis care, and coordinate treatment for patients with multisystem conditions that affect the kidneys. Their work includes long‑term disease management, prevention of kidney decline, and collaboration with transplant teams when advanced care is required.
