Neonatology

A neonatologist is a medical doctor who specializes in the care of newborns, particularly those who are premature, critically ill, or born with complex medical conditions. They manage the diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment of infants requiring specialized monitoring, respiratory support, nutritional management, and advanced neonatal interventions. Neonatologists oversee care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), coordinate with pediatric subspecialists, and guide families through the medical needs of high‑risk or medically fragile newborns.
