Hepatology

A hepatologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the liver, gallbladder, biliary system, and pancreas. They evaluate patients with abnormal liver tests, digestive symptoms, metabolic conditions, and complications of chronic liver disease. Hepatologists use advanced diagnostic tools, imaging, and laboratory evaluation to identify the underlying cause of liver dysfunction and provide both medical and procedural management. Their work includes long‑term care for chronic liver conditions, coordination with transplant teams when needed, and management of complex multisystem disorders related to liver disease.
